In collaboration with the Johor Outreach Community Centre (JOCC), the Refugee Emergency Fund (REF), and IMARET, we recently organized a Family Planning Day dedicated to improving access to reproductive healthcare for refugee communities in Johor Bahru.
This initiative is an extension of REF’s ongoing Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) education program for refugee youth. As part of these efforts, refugees were offered free Implanon insertions and one-on-one family planning counselling. A total of 9 refugees received long-acting contraception and support to make informed decisions about their reproductive health.
We are also grateful to CARE Latex for the generous sponsorship of 200 condoms — a crucial resource not only for contraception but also for the prevention of sexually transmitted infections.
Our deepest thanks to JOCC, REF, and IMARET for supporting this meaningful initiative and for their continued commitment to providing equitable healthcare and support services to underserved populations.
