In December 2024, we launched a program to provide long-staying patients in the ward with meaningful activities during their stay. Many patients undergoing chemotherapy, along with their caregivers, remain in the ward for 6-8 weeks at a time.
With little to occupy their time, patients often reported feelings of boredom and low mood, compounded by the challenges of managing various complications from chemotherapy.
Through paint-by-numbers kits, even those without prior painting experience can immerse themselves in creating beautiful artwork. These pieces not only offer a therapeutic distraction but can also be taken home as a keepsake, displayed as permanent decorations in the ward or a small token of appreciation to Sejati's speakers.
The featured paintings below were created by a young woman battling a haematological malignancy. Despite experiencing numbness from chemotherapy, she completed the paintings, a testament to her resilience.
